Housed in a colonial style building, the tasting area provides a view of the winecellar where on occasion you can view the winemaking process while tasting the wines on offer. In the true spirit of this boutique winery, you can enjoy a BBQ under the Tuart Gums whilst relaxing with a glass quality wine produced from grapes grown on the estate. Planted in 1973, the first Shiraz vines where soon followed by Chenin Blanc and then Zinfandel. Later, Cabernet Sauvignon were added as well as Chardonnay, Verdelho, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. With a selection such as this it’s little wonder that the winery has made such good use of the climate and terroir to produce wines with the fruit intensity and richness that mark them as Peel region products. Having built up a worldwide following you would do well to include this winery on your list of “must have’s”.
