About Patrick of Coonawarra
Patrick Tocaciu has been making wine for over 30 years. His extensive knowledge and skills have cemented his fine reputation for quality and helped secure international accolades for several major labels while working for them as Chief Winemaker. But now, the focus has switched to fulfilling a more personal goal. Patrick continues to produce these high quality wines for his own label from grapes grown in family vineyards located at Coonawarra and Wrattonbully.
All vineyards are estate owned and managed, consisting of six grape varieties- The Coonawarra ‘Home Block’ vineyard is 2 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, planted on the famous Terra Rossa soil. This vineyard produces Patrick T’s flagship wines, which show the true essence of Coonawarra. The Wrattonbully vineyards are made up of six grape varieties; Cabernet, Shiraz, Merlot, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, and are fast becoming known for producing outstanding wines.
Patrick combines traditional methods of barrel fermentation, open fermentation and extended maturation along with modern winemaking techniques to produce fine wines in which you are invited to experience with the friendly staff at the Cellar Door.
To complement the fine wines, the Patrick T Cellar Door is home to an Art Gallery featuring over 60 works by local artists as well as renowned resident artist, Russell Morrison, who showcases his talent in year round exhibitions. The Patrick Team is also proud to support local produce by providing products including olive oils, spices, dukkah, almonds, sauces and an exclusive range of abalone products.
