Wine Review - 2004 Mt Jagged Wines Bullock Road Cabernet Shiraz - Buy Australian Wine Online
The Bullock Road - Buy Australian Wine Online
Good evening! This glorious evening I am quaffing a very quaffable blend from our most recent member, Mt Jagged Wines, from Fleurieu, South Australia. Bottled in 2004, from the Fleurieu Peninsula from Mt Jagged Wines, is a heavy, full flavoursome wine with meaty tannins and a nice strong Shiraz peppery bite. Very commendable.
On the label:
The Bullock Road winds past the front gate of Mt Jagged Vineyard and was used in the 1800's to transport wool and wheat on bullock drays from Victor Harbour to Adelaide. The Cabernet Shiraz blend is an Australian Classic. It opens with good cabernet characteristics mixed through spicy shiraz fruit. The palate has concentrated cassis with soft tannins and a savoury finish with nicely integrated oak in the background."
As a winemaking family dynasty Mt Jagged Wines is a Family owned and operated vineyard and winery that focuses on single site cool climate Shiraz, Chardonnay, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot/Cabernet and Sparkling wines (both Red and White). The Mt Jagged vineyard sits near the coast on the Fleurieu Peninsula at 350m above sea level.
