2005 Reserve Chardonnay - Buy Australian Wine Online
Good evening!It has been raining today in Brisbane and so right now this full bodied Chardonnay is going down a treat. Mt Jagged Wines, from Fleurieu, South Australia, one of our most recent wineries, bottled this beauty in 2005 and it will really hit it's legs in another 5 years or so. The Fleurieu Peninsula region and Mt Jagged Wines have produced a high quality, heavily oaked white with strong complex flavours. It is still a green wine, though it has all the hallmarks of becoming a classic after a period of cellaring. I can imagine the caramel flavours and golden straw colours coming out very nicely. The Chardonnay grape holds a complex and sophisticated palet. A commendable wine.
On the label:
Made solely from our highest block of IV10 clone Chardonnay at the Mt Jagged Vineyard. Fermented in new and seasoned French oak and left on lees for ten months with regular lees stirring to make a smooth and tight Chardonnay to be the best representation of the soil and climate from the vintage.
Only 250 dozen made. Enjoy!
